The 1st Belt and Road Women’s Forum was held on March 25, 2017 during the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference, which was cohosted by BRA Secretariat, Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Silk Road Think Tank Association. With the theme of "Belt and Road Construction under Globalization: Women’s Contribution and Development", the forum discussed the topics including women’s health and education, promotion of the Chinese excellent traditional culture, etc. Shaukat Aziz, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yu Hongjun, former Deputy Minister pf International Department of Central Committee of CPC, Xie Shumin, Spouse of the Secretary-General of BFA, Pang Lijuan, Vice Chairperson of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, and famous actor Huang Xiaoming, etc. attended the forum.
